Women helping women

We can't change the world, but we can make it a little better. This is our clinic philosophy. The team at the Hanse-Klinik takes its human responsibility very seriously. Every year we sponsor a social project that we support financially from the clinic’s profit.

This year we support the women's advice center LAND-GRAZIEN. This is an association in the south of Schleswig-Holstein that primarily helps women in rural areas in a mobile advice center.

With a lot of passion and commitment, the two social workers drive through villages and smaller towns in a van to meet with women who are threatened or affected by domestic violence.

Their van is disguised as a company car, labeled with an inconspicuous logo and a telephone number. The social workers then help discreetly and anonymously in the mobile advice center to plan the escape and sort out money issues. Because the feeling of being financially dependent is, in addition to fear and shame, a reason for many affected women to stay with their violent partners.

Unfortunately, we cannot change the wind and protect these women, but we can set our sails in a way that gives one or the other a little more strength, courage and support to leave their old life marked by violence behind them.
